This is the weblog of Kit Kemper. It is generally about marketing. Marketing in the sense that pretty much everything you do as a company and more often as a person these days devolves into marketing of some sort or another. It is also about tech in much the same way as it is about marketing, technology touches more of our lives every day and where people, marketing, and technology converge there are some pretty interesting things happening.

Jazzing up the site
I have been very frustrated by the boring template look of my site and it has kept me from blogging. Not only am I going to make a concerted effort to post more often (hopefully twice a day), but I am also working on improving the site. I have been reading Eric Meyer on CSS and have thus far been fairly pleased. It indicates that you should have at least a vague understanding of CSS and strong HTML skills, neither of which would I say I possess, but I have been able to work through and understand things fairly well. I think I am going to get bogged down in the aesthetic CSS which seems to be absent in the book. I do have More Eric Meyer on CSS and that may include more projects that are image, bell and whistle heavy. If anyone knows of any other books that are good let me know. I know that Molly Holzschlag’s Sams Teach Yourself Movable Type in 24 Hours includes coverage of modifying the templates, but I figured it would be good to learn CSS anyway.
In the meantime, I am debating whether I want to make some basic text and color tweaks to the current format just to add some personalization.
